If you have a dog who’s been struggling — behaviorally, emotionally, or both — Will is your person.
My dog Hank came to him as a genuinely difficult case, and the progress has been remarkable. Will doesn’t just address surface behaviors but gets to the root of the issue. He’s even collaborated with Hank’s vet to make sure his medication is properly equilibrated, understanding that behavior and biology aren’t separate conversations. That integrative, science-based approach is rare and makes a real difference.
Will’s method is thoughtful and effective. He’s opened my eyes to how much sniffing can help a dog’s nervous system relax which has been critical to Hank’s progress.
The results speak for themselves. Hank is less reactive, handles guests without going off the rails, is far easier to calm down when he gets overstimulated, and the humping situation is significantly more civilized. Will took all of it seriously without judgment and tackled each issue methodically.
I’m excited to continue working with Will to help Hank keep making progress.

I can’t recommend Will Bangura enough! My dog had severe fear aggression, as well as crippling anxiety and separation anxiety. After trying several other trainers with no success, I found Will, a certified dog behaviorist, and our lives have changed completely. He truly understands the complexities of dog aggression and anxiety and works from a science-based approach that made all the difference.
Within just a few sessions, Will helped my dog feel more confident and less reactive. He taught me how to read my dog’s signals and how to manage situations that would usually trigger fear or anxiety. Now, my dog is much calmer and happier, and the fear-based aggression is significantly reduced. His separation anxiety, which used to cause so much stress for both of us, is no longer a major issue. Will’s expertise in dealing with aggressive dogs with anxiety is unparalleled, and I’m so grateful for his guidance.
If you’re dealing with dog aggression or a dog with anxiety, I highly recommend working with Will Bangura. His professionalism, knowledge, and care for both the dog and the pet parent are outstanding.

I have had pet dogs for for decades and have experienced several trainers. Lexi my Sheltie is a reactive dog and other trainers were unable to make much progress with her. One even suggested she be euthenized! Will has turned out to be the most knowledgeable and patient canine behavior expert/trainer I have met and has been successful in helping Lexi. He provided me with verbal, written and, at times, recorded instructions as well as videos all of which were very helpful. Will is genuinely concerned with his canine students as evidenced by his calls to check and see how Lexi was doing. Lexi's behavior is much improved as is her quality of life. I highly recommend him if your dog has a behavior problem.Posted on Google Vicki HayesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Will is amazing! Our reactive Springer Millie has come a long way with Will’s guidance. Even though we are not always as consistent as we need to be, we/she have learned a lot and we will continue to implement all of the great stuff Will has taught us. He is accessible and cares about your dog. I highly recommend Will. We have used 2 other trainers in the valley that don’t even come close to Will! I needed a mobility-balance dog, but $50,000.00 was not in the budget. We went to Maricopa County Care and Control and found a large but skinny dog. He was at least nine-years old and looked into my eyes with kindness. I wanted him. At home we fed him Farmers Dog and treats of meat. In eight weeks he gained twenty pounds. His veterinarian pronounced him to be a good weight and healthy. He was a happy boy and ready for training. We hired Phoenix Dog Training to train him. Charley was ready to work in four months and didn’t have to leave home for his training. He was trained with kindness and love. It’s been three years since we took Charley home. Charley helps me navigate outside my home, up and down curbs, stairs, over cracked parking lots, and bumpy sidewalks. He is welcomed in every office, store, and restaurant. He never barks (except at home), obeys his twenty-three commands, and understands twelve hand signs. He went to a concert today with us. We couldn’t love him more. A trained service dog is a blessing.

Frequently Asked Questions About Dog Behavior Training and Behavior Consultations
What types of behavior problems does Will Bangura work with?
Will Bangura specializes in complex canine behavior problems, including aggression toward people or other dogs, reactivity, fear and anxiety disorders, separation anxiety, resource guarding, leash reactivity, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, noise sensitivities, puppy behavior problems, and severe phobias. He also works with dogs that have previously failed traditional training programs or board-and-train programs.
Does Will Bangura use shock collars, prong collars, or punishment-based methods?
No. Will Bangura uses evidence-based, force-free behavior modification and training methods rooted in modern behavioral science and learning theory. His approach focuses on changing the underlying emotional response driving the behavior rather than suppressing warning signals through fear, pain, intimidation, or punishment.
Are consultations available virtually?
Yes. Virtual consultations are available worldwide and are highly effective for most behavior problems, including aggression, reactivity, anxiety, and separation anxiety. Virtual sessions allow Will to observe behavior in the dog’s normal home environment while coaching pet parents in real time.
Does Will Bangura offer in-home consultations?
Yes. In-home consultations are available throughout Phoenix and many surrounding Arizona communities when appropriate for the case.
How long is the initial consultation?
The initial behavior consultation is typically between one and two hours. This allows time for a detailed behavioral history, discussion of contributing factors, environmental assessment, observation of the dog’s behavior, and development of an individualized behavior modification plan.
What should I expect during the first consultation?
The first consultation is comprehensive and educational. Pet parents learn why the behavior is occurring, what factors may be contributing to it, how to safely manage the situation, and how to begin changing behavior through structured training and behavior modification exercises. Most pet parents leave the first session with a clear understanding of the next steps and immediate strategies they can begin implementing.
Does Will Bangura work with aggressive dogs?
Yes. Aggression cases are one of Will Bangura’s primary specialties. He has more than 35 years of experience working with dogs displaying aggression toward strangers, family members, children, visitors, other dogs, and other animals.
Can older dogs still learn new behaviors?
Absolutely. Dogs are capable of learning throughout their lives. Behavior change depends more on appropriate training methods, consistency, management, and emotional conditioning than on age alone.
How do I get started?
Pet parents can begin by scheduling a free 15-minute phone call or booking an initial virtual or in-home behavior consultation. During the consultation process, Will will evaluate the behavior concerns, answer questions, and recommend the most appropriate next steps.
