PHOENIX DOG TRAINING REVIEWS

PHOENIX DOG TRAINING REVIEWS

7/1/2022

When you have been in business for over 30 years you pretty much have seen everything.  Back in 2008, I had a competitor, another dog trainer and a dog training company do everything they could to sabotage me and destroy my business.  They did this in two ways.

  1. They Posted many Fake Bad 1-Star Reviews.  Fake reviews are much easier to get removed from google reviews.  Yelp reviews can’t be removed except for an act of God. Put enough fake bad reviews on a company’s review page and you can destroy their business. One way to identify fake bad reviews is when the pattern of reviews is 5-star reviews, and 1-star reviews.  The reviews read like night and day.  Typical reviews are 5-star, 4-star, and 3-star, maybe an upset customer or two leave a one-star review.  But the pattern is never 5-star reviews and 1-star reviews that are so contradictory, you wonder if they are talking about the same dog trainer and the same dog training company.  Also, use logic.  We have an A+ BBB rating, no complaints, and all 5-star reviews on the BBB site, Additionally, we are a 2022 BBB Torch Award for Ethics Nominee.
  2. Negative SEO.  This same individual (competitor) hired an SEO company to do dirty Negative SEO. Basically, they paid to have tens of thousands of Chinese porn websites links going to my website.  As a result, Google blacklisted my website as a threat because of all the spam links to unscrupulous websites in China. My website for my dog training business was no longer listed on Google because of these terrible actions.

Eventually, the phone pretty much stopped ringing and I had to lay off 14 staff members. I lost everything. I fell into a deep depression and pretty much life had ended for me.

Why am I disclosing all of these personal details?

Recently, it has happened again.  This time it’s a disgruntled client whose name I will withhold for now because Phoenix Dog Training has filed a defamation lawsuit against the individual.

We have been able to get a fake review removed from Google, The BBB, and also the customer complaint was rejected by the BBB which is very rare. The client disputed the charge for their training with AMEX.  American Express sided with Phoenix Dog Training.  AMEX always sides with the card member.  To have AMEX side with the merchant, phoenix Dog Training, is also extremely rare.

This individual also filed a complaint with the Az Attorneys Generals’ office. Our Lawyers have responded to the AG complaint and we expect the complaint to be dropped and dismissed by the AG as baseless.

The content of the disgruntled client’s review is full of lies and slander.  Some of the accusations that are made that are false are.

  1. Questioning if I was ever a Veteran of The Army, Disputing My service to my Country.
  2. Questioning my Education, Specifically the Coursework I did Through Harvard University.
  3. Distorting the truth and accusing me of violating copyright laws when in fact I am not.
  4. Asserting that the many awards and accolades, and recognition that PDT has are fake.
  5. Asserting that we somehow were giving medical advice acting like a veterinarian, despite having to actually go see their veterinarian for blood work and medication.
  6. Accusing PDT of being deceptive because we used to do business as TLC K9 ACADEMY LLC over a decade ago.  PDT rebranded itself for two reasons.  (1) A Competitor Destroyed TLC K9 ACADEMY with vicious lies, Fake Reviews, and using dirty negative SEO tactics to have google delist my business website. (2) We were able to get the web address PhoenixDogTrainig.com and get the trademark for Phoenix Dog Training. The name Phoenix Dog Training is worth its weight in gold from a marketing and branding perspective it was a no-brainer to re-brand. Additionally, we work with pet dogs exclusively and the K9 part in the business name was a little confusing to the public thinking we do k9 protection training and we do not.
  7. Calling into question my Certification and Credentials as a Trainer and an Associate Behaviorist.
  8. Accusing me of being deceptive because I changed my last name from Glatzel to Bangura.  I changed my name for two reasons. (1) My name and reputation and business were destroyed and it was pretty much necessary. (2) I got married. My wife did not want to take my last name as the German last name sounds pretty guttural.  My wife loves her last name and I really like the sound of Will Bangura.  So almost four years ago, when I got married I took my wife’s name.

Back in 2008, I allowed myself to be a victim and felt helpless. I refuse to do that today. If you want to believe the garbage and lies that are out there about me and my company, fine, don’t use us.  there are many trainers in Arizona to choose from.

Unlike in 2008, today, despite the huge cost of litigation and lawyers’ fees, I choose to spend the money to defend my name and my actions. Today I refuse to let anyone try to destroy my good name, reputation, and the work that I do. The lawsuit is not about money.  The client has no money and those that have ever been in a lawsuit know that despite any monies being awarded you have to collect and that is impossible.  I have already decided that if there are any monies awarded to me beyond recouping the cost of my legal fees, I will donate the money to some type of dog-related charity.

This has been particularly painful for myself and my wife.  It has been painful to have to explain to family, friends, and my children. Quite frankly it has brought shame and embarrassment. The mental and emotional toll it takes is enormous.

It’s painful because I try to be of service to our community and give back. It’s painful when I contrast this to the $97,000 in pro bono training in the last two years I offered.  I do a weekly radio show to help dog owners who can’t afford training all at my own cost and my time.

I love what I do. I am trying not to let this get me down to the point where I just want to retire.  I still have a few good years left in me, if you will have me.

To those many clients, friends, and family that have been so supportive, thank you. You know who you are, and I love you.

I have nothing to hide. This is one of the reasons that I posted this.  I can’t yet name names or respond publicly and specifically to the review on the review site for legal reasons until the case goes to court and the outcome is decided.

As I can, I will be posting updates to the case as things happen. I should have an update in a week or two to post.

Happy Tails,

Will
